Luis Quintero is the Chief Advisor - Production Management at Halliburton. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from USB - Venezuela, and a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from LSU. His career spans 33 years in well logging, reservoir engineering, and production management in more than 30 countries. He has evaluated production gaps for fields in USA, Latin-America, Africa, Former Soviet Union, Asia, and Middle East. Luis is a member of SPE's Legion of Volunteers, has been a Technical Editor of SPE Reservoir Evaluation, and the winner of SPE’s International PhD Student Contest. He is the former president of the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts (SPWLA), has co-authored more than 25 technical papers and has 14 patents.
Throughout his career, he has offered his thoughts about the Oil and Gas industry in keynote speeches in India, Colombia, London, Houston, Japan, Kuwait, Nigeria and Saudi Arabia, and he also has written for the World Energy Monthly Review and offered TV interviews in the UK, Azerbaijan and Colombia.
